Amaretto - Homemade

Holly crap, I just made homemade Amaretto. And holly molly, it's the real thing.

Wow, who knew I could do that... LOL

Never mind the bottles, I needed something to put it in.

Can be drank as soon as it's done... bonus!!!


We put it to the test against the real thing and had a hard time telling which was which :)

Got this recipe from BellAlimento

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups water

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

2 tbsp. pure almond extract

2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

2 cups Vodka

 

The making of...

  • Into a heavy bottom sauce pan add: water, sugars and bring to a boil. Cook until sugars are well dissolved (about 10 min). Remove from heat and allow to cool for approximately 15-20  minutes.

  • To pan add: extracts and vodka. Mix well.

  • Pour Amaretto into desired bottles or jars and cap. Store in a cool/dry location.
