Fried Jarlsberg Cheese Cubes

Another great recipe. Found on on Bell'alimento by Paula Jones. This woman is brilliant in the kitchen. I'm aiming to try many more of her recipes.

Ingredients
2 cups vegetable/canola oil (I used olive oil)
12 – 1" cubes of Jarlsberg cheese
1 egg – beaten
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup Wasa rosemary flat breads – finely crushed (I used breadcrumbs)
Salt and pepper
12 black olives – pitted (I used sliced)
12 leaves flat leaf Italian parsley (I used basil)

The making of...

Place oil into a heavy bottom deep sided pan. Heat oil to 350 degrees.

Set up dredging/breading station:

Into 3 small separate shallow bowls, add: egg, flour, crushed flat bread.

Season egg and flour with salt/pepper.

Dip cheese as follows: into egg, flour, egg, then flat breads. Continue until all cubes are breaded.

Carefully place 3-4 breaded cheese cubes into hot oil. Cook until just golden on all sides. Approximately 1-2 min. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel (I used brown paper) to absorb excess oil. Continue until all are cooked.

Place one olive onto a skewer (or small plastic fork), top cheese cubes with parsley leaf, and then the skewer. Continue until all are assembled.

Serve immediately.

Compliments to Chef Aline!
