Gâteau à la salade de fruits

(Fruit Cocktail Cake)

Recently acquired from my niece Nat, a fine French Québequoise cook.

 

It is delicious and very moist. Will not last long when you make it.

Ingrédients

1 ½ tasse de sucre blanc

2 tasses de farine

2 œufs battus

1 c à thé de soda (petite vache)

2 c à thé de poudre à pâte

Un peu d’essence de vanille

1 boîte de 14 onces de salade de fruits avec le jus

 

Méthode

Mélanger tous les ingrédients, mettre dans un moule bien graissé et cuire à 350°f pendant 30-35 minutes.

 

Suggestion de glaçage

¼ de tasse de beurre ramolli

1 tasse de sucre blanc

1 c à thé d’essence de vanille

1 boîte de 6 onces de lait carnation

 

Faire cuire tous les ingrédients à gros bouillon environ 5 minutes en brassant constamment. Laisser tiédir et verser sur le gâteau.

Ingredients

1 ½ cup sugar

2 cups flour

2 eggs beaten

1 tsp. baking soda

2 tsp. baking powder

A bit of vanilla extract

1-14 oz can fruit cocktail with juice

 

The making of...

Mix all ingredients and pour in a well greased pan.

Cook at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.

 

Icing

¼ cup soft butter

1 cup sugar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1-6 oz Carnation milk

 

Boil all for 5 min. stirring constantly. Let cool then pour over cake.

 

Note: I made mine in a bundt pan. Also, I did not have Carnation milk, so I used my French vanilla coffee cream No regrets!
